Condemning Western Christians is not too good

The Lord Bishop of Diocese of All Nation, Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), the Rt. Revd. Dr. Felix Orji OSB, has call on Nigerian Christians to stop condemning

Western Christians especially Anglican Communion because of there cold spiritualism.

The Church father advised them to concentrate on there Christian life rather than condemning others or claiming Spiritual Superiority over others.

In his message on social media, the Bishop urged people to embrace peace and shun nepotism, tribalism other social vices that can break the bond of Christ.

It’s okay to condemn the bad behavior of western Christians but it’s important to address the spiritual problems and bad behaviors we have in our Nigerian churches as well. He added!

In his post on Facebook "Many Nigerian Christians love to condemn western Christians and much of the Anglican Communion for their cold spirituality and their theo-moral declension especially in the areas of human sexuality and universalism and that’s appropriate. While it is important to do that( correct others) we must not ignore the theological dysfunctions and moral aberrations within the Nigerian church. As Star Wars rightly put it “The gap between what is said and what is true(or done) has become an abyss”.

We have problems with speaking the truth, tribalism, lack of love for one another, unforgiveness, sexual immorality, high-handedness, constant congregational conflicts, and other problems in our Nigerian Churches that we must not ignore. And we shouldn’t get upset when we are corrected as well since we see no problem correcting others.

It is important to bear in mind that a spiritual superiority complex is very dangerous for the Christian life because it blinds a person from seeing their own faults. There is a lot we can learn from one another if we allow humility and the Bible to be part of our spirituality. Looking down on others is not really a virtue especially when we have got our own serious spiritual problems.

-Bishop Felix Orji, OSB."
