A Decade After: Oba T.T. Dada Royal Family Honours Late Olori Josephine Amope with Solemn Remembrance Prayers

The ancient city of Ota stood in quiet reverence on Tuesday as the renowned royal family of the late Olota of Ota, Oba Timothy Talabi Dada, organized a solemn 10th

remembrance prayer in honour of the late Queen, Princess Olori Josephine Amope T.T. Dada.

The Voice Magazine reports that the private event was held at the premises of St. James Anglican Cathedral Church, Ota, bringing together members of the Oba T.T. Dada royal dynasty for prayers and reflections on the life and legacy of the departed matriarch.

The remembrance service, which was strictly a family affair, was marked by simplicity, dignity and deep spiritual reflection, befitting the memory of a woman widely remembered for her grace, humility and devotion to family values.

OTN News further reports that, in line with cherished Yoruba cultural traditions, fried bean cakes popularly known as Akara were later served at the palace of the Olota of Ota, a symbolic practice believed to honour and celebrate the memory of departed loved ones.

Speaking during the event, former Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Prince Gbolahan Dada, on behalf of the T.T. Dada dynasty expressed gratitude to God for the life and times of the late Olori, describing her as an unforgettable Queen who embodied the finest virtues of royalty.

He also thanked God for preserving the enduring legacies of the Dada royal family over the years and urged members of the dynasty to continue upholding the values of unity, compassion and service to humanity for which the late Olori Josephine Amope Dada was widely known during her lifetime.

Senator Dada further joined members of the royal family in offering prayers for the continued peaceful repose of the departed matriarch.

"May her soul continue to rest peacefully in Paradise. Amen," he prayed.

The private remembrance prayer and 10th anniversary gathering was attended by Olori Princess Abimbola Abioye Dada (JP), wife of Senator Prince Gbolahan Dada, alongside other distinguished members of the Oba T.T. Dada Royal Dynasty of Aworiland.

The Voice Magazine recalls that the late Olori Josephine Amope T.T. Dada passed away ten years ago and has continued to be remembered fondly by family members and associates for her exemplary life, motherly virtues and unwavering commitment to the progress and unity of the royal household.

The anniversary event once again underscored the enduring bond within the Dada royal family and the lasting impact of a Queen whose memory remains cherished a decade after her transition.
