NIGERIA AND ITS FUTURE

It will take Nigeria a long time to be a strong and secure nation because speaking the truth, doing what is right, and inviting

others to do both will get you into trouble with many Nigerians at home and abroad. Selfishness, power, position, titles, vain-glory, and personal material well-being rather than the common good are the primary values of most Nigerians and they have no trouble throwing you under the bus to achieve these goals!

This stance accounts for much of the lawlessness and lack of accountability in the country! In addition, people can be so wicked and mean-spirited toward others at the turn of dime despite their show of religious zeal and spirituality. It is a sad reality that Nigerians must take responsibility for if they want to progress as a Nation.

The solution is prayer, repentance, and re-learning to speak the truth and do what is right for the common good. Praying is not enough. Effectual prayer must be accompanied with genuine repentance, heart-felt confession to God and those we offended, and a willingness to amend our ways.  -Bishop Felix Orji
