Euro Global Ltd Calls for Govt. Intervention on Persistent Environmental Pollution from Daraju Ind. Ltd & Other Companies 

The management of Euro Global Ltd, Ota, Ogun State an arm of Sona Group of Companies has called on Ogun State and Federal Government for urgent intervention on the persistent Environmental Pollution cause by the Daraju Ind. Ltd and other neighbouring Companies.

The company said the emissions from the company has caused great havoc to the health of there workers. Speaking on behalf of the company, the Group Executive Director on Corporate Affairs, Prince Soji Fagbemi said this health hazard has been going on in the industrial estate since 2023. 

When asked about the proactive steps taken by there company to curb this health related hazards, Mr. Soji emphasize that all efforts has been made to have a meeting with the management of Daraju Ind Ltd, Federated Steel on how to find a lasting solution to the menace. He said the companies promised their is going to be a change.

"Indeed, we had a meeting with the management of Daraju, Federated and others, they promised there will be a change. Truly, there was a little bit relief but not long enough that the Pollution started again. Some of our expatriates are living in the compound, the Companies were so clever enough that they usually exposed the pollutants in the night, which our expatriates and workers on night duty usually inhale, this is not good for health, most of this things can cause organs related sickness"

He showed some videos and photos of water and cloud pollution. Some of the water gushing out were full of foams which, according to tNr. Fagbemi were waters from Daraju Industry. 

Further questions on other steps taken by Euro Global reveals that the management of Ogun State Housing Corporation advised them to live in peace with other companies because the place is  situated for Industrial Estate, he also said Manufacturers Associations of Nigeria, Ota branch, has tried to brokers peace but yet, Daraju and other Companies has not step down in the pollution. 

The management of Euro Global Ltd is now using briefing time to appeal to the Federal and State Governments to come to the aid of the people in order to curb the air pollution caused by Daraju Ind and other Companies within the Ota Industrial Estate. 

While visiting the management of Daraju Industry to ascertain the other side of their own story. Mrs. Bunmi, the Human Resources Manager declined to speak on the matter because the management of Euro Global Ltd has already taken legal actions against them
